BARONESS VON SKETCH SHOW

I had a fairly minor role in this all-female sketch comedy show. I worked in the writer's room as a story editor on the show's first season, but I found it fascinating to see how the women behind it (Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne and Jennifer Whalen) ran the show. At the time, I was the only male in the room. Most comedy show writer's rooms have young-ish guys competing ot out-funny each other. By contrast, this was supportive and friendly. I liked it.

When they were developing the show, they hadn't yet named it – it was just "the sketch show." Someone said, "The sketch show has to have a title!"  "How about baroness?" So it became The Baroness von Sketch Show.
